Teo and Tea have arrived
One of 5000 limited-edition CD/DVD combos, which is becoming the norm for recent Jarre releases.
I hated this album when I heard the promo, I now love it. Jarre has moved, not up, but sideways, and has gone for a more dancey, main-stream kind of feel. It works for the majority, but has also managed to upset loads of fans.
I personally really like the album, first few listens didn't impress me but then you realise that even though the songs would work in a sweaty night-club, they also retain a lot of Jarre-ology.
Some tracks are pure genius, while others are so Eurodance/techno they'll make even Scooter cry (Teo and Tea being the worst offender).
If you do decide to give it a twirl, listen to it more than once (it's only 50 minutes), don't skip tracks and don't give up listening cos you think that the track isn't good. Just listen and forget other Jarre albums (after all, the golden classics are 30 years old!) and listen to Teo and Tea afresh, like a new band you've just discovered.

you still in Jordan? if so, do you meet up with Wolf?
Miss you too Partner in crime
hm.. i want a new techno album, but i've been so out of touch with THAT scene that i'd probably go buy "Best of Scooter" or something..
is this recommended for Techno-Lightweights such as my esteemed self?
yes, very much so
it's more mainstream than jungle, more cheese than big beat if you know what i mean
it's a great album though, I really like it. I'd say it's Dance/Electronica/New Age. More Mylo than Prodigy/Chem/Kraftwerk.
give it a spin
Tx :)
I didn't quite 'get' it the first time I played it, but then that's true of Cousteau too and that's one of my favourite albums ever now. Having played the new album a few times, I really like it now, including Teo & Tea which is a highlight for me. I was lucky enough to see much of the album performed live earlier this week:

First of all, nice pics! and were you lucky enough to be chosen for the free advance preview via jarre uk? I'm presuming that's where you went?
I too, at first thought that the man had gone mad, and that the album was just him trying to fit in. But, after a few listens (I stuck it in the car) I started liking the tracks one by one. I know think this is one of Jarre's best albums to date :-)
I read your page about the preview and not seeing Jarre so close before. I've been a fan since I saw Dockland's on BBC (1989 I think) but never had the chance to see the man live. But in 2005 I got tickets to go to Gdansk and we were in Block A which was really close to the stage so I managed to see the man all the time, which was amazing! I remember sneaking in to the rehearal the day before and listening to industrial revolution blasting away and that's when I realised that this was going to be one hell of a concert!
Thanks for your comment on my pics. Yes, I did get my place via the JarreUK site and Dunkie looked after us all on the day. He did a great job.
Industrial Revolution (the full version from Revolutions) is one of my favourite pieces of music. It must have been fantastic to have a sneak preview of that!
I'm really into the new album now. It reminds me of Chronologie, but with more modern beats on it. Here's hoping for some more gig news soon!
