Dragon Optical Illusion

This is cool, and you can make it yourself!
Have a look at this video of a dragon me and Kelly made today:

The dragon moves his head and neck to follow the camera! Of course, the reality is that he's fixed (actually made out of paper) and does nothing at all :)

The reason this happens is because the dragon's face is actually concave, and our brains assume he's convex (like normal) so correct his face to whichever way we look.

The best way to understand this illusion is to make it yourself! Head over to the excellent www.grand-illusions.com and download the free .pdf of the dragon from there. Print him out, cut him out, and fold him as instructed and see for yourselves!

Coolest Dragon ever ;-)

Did you see the goldrush cart pics ?!

Yes I saw that yesterday, it's a bit disappointing cos I was imaging a good old Huckleberry Finn kind of mining cart, complete with that see-saw handle that you use to move it around :D

Still, this cart looks great. Apparantly the track it moves on has checkpoints, so BLU gain points from passing through the points, but ideally should escort the damn thing to the end.

Man this is gonna be TEH AWESOME!!1!1!oneone

And Anmar hope things get fixed quick. We are starting to enjoy COD4, and I'm actually playing Quake Wars too (DEMO :p)

Oh and Haniboy has now got a new laptop (complete with some 8-series vga), so he's waiting for his ping to be a bit better than 2-3 SECONDS before he downloads TF2 and joins our ranks.
So that should hopefully be a 5th ACTIVE member of the "clan", if he's gonna play as regularly as he did on the 360...
One day, one sweet day, we'll all get the "Friends Like These" achievement...

Playing Quake Wars? I thought you hated it. Is it any good?

My internet connection is still broken. Meanwhile, I'm playing CoD4 single-player on most difficult of levels, which I found to very closely resemble the difficulty of multi-player. This should help me stay sharp.

Man, I can't wait to rejoin the ranks :(

Here's the deal: I downloaded the QW:ET demo ages ago, ran it and had no fucking clue what was going on. There were 6 classes, what did each one do? What was it I had to do.... so I uninstalled.

Recently id realised that it wasn't just me that had this problem, it was anybody who hadn't played a hardcore class game before. So they released a 2nd demo, one that holds you by the hand as you play against some bots and explains the shit to you. It also gives you great audio/written tips when you're playing online.

With this demo, I can no see what kind of game it is, and I kinda like it! It's a more serious class game, where the teams have 4 main objectives to do, with smaller side objectives for the support classes (yours truely), like fix this turret, do this, do that etc.

I'm enjoying it, I can tell you that much......

Sounds interesting. I'll give a spin when my connection is fixed. Right now, I'm waiting for their website to load. Patience!
