OMG!

Have a good hard look at Song Hye Kyo, a famous Korean actress:

QUOTE:
It's hard to believe, but you're looking at computer-generated image of Korean actress Song Hye Kyo, created by Indonesian CG artist Max Edwin Wahyudi. To create this stunning shot, he used a combination of digital sculpting and design application Pixelogic Zbrush and animation modeling software Autodesk 3DS Max.
SOURCE: GIZMODO

How about that then? and we thought the CGI Final Fantasy movie was the best it would ever get. Give it 5-10 years, and our graphics cards will be rendering Song in real time, as she navigates her way through a physically complete environment. I wonder what's next in our expensive hobby, better graphics or (as Nintendo seem to be thinking) more immersion. Perhaps in 5 years time we'll all be using a PROPER version of Virtual Reality.

Scary.

O.M.G.

Advent Children CGI MODELING HAS BEEN LICKED. i've been citing it (esp the end scene thru the fields) as an example of how stupid hollywood animation is.

i WANT to see this moving.
i'd do ANYTHING to see this moving.
i want better animation not just modeling.

think: movies/games/etc with:

-Better stunts/scripts (simply because they are free from human limitations now: long live the MatriX.)

-customizable language, NO DUBBING, NATIVE LANGUAGE!

-and i'm too intimidated to even think about A.I combinations right now. will froth about that tomorrow.

you and the Gizmodo ppl have made my day :)
(and partly settled the long-standing argument about whether one day traditional movie-making will die: my take: HELL YEAH.)

wow, someone's EXCITED :D

Nintendo rubik cube FTW

not sure how available or not they are, am not gonna go out of my way to get one anyhow.

I guess I'm more of a MARIO-LORE freak, I love the mushroom kingdom and it's inhabitants, especially good old yoshi and DK

Pan's Labyrinth?

i'm ALREADY DL'ing it.. but my connection is crap (approx. 12kBps) and i'm sharing it with my father, so i'm guessing it will be done in about 5 more days. i am excited about it i promise..

and yeahhhhh this pic here blew me away. the texture of the face alone makes me ignore the digital artifacts (the hair still looks partly digital and part of the eyes/ears as well BUT ONLY AFTER YOU ALREADY KNOW THIS IS DIGITIZED)
i asked a ton of ppl what was wrong with this pic, and the first thing that comes to mind:
"hmm.. she's not truly ethnic korean, is she?"
or questions along that line. no one imagines this is a generated image. drool.

this was done using commercial software, what is ILM and all the other buggers doing? GIVE US MOTION ALREADY!

Animation Freak -> Me

and yes, Rubik with your favorite character plastered on is a great concept :D

Yes I agree, it's a bloody good image. And that it's created by an artist using just two tools is amazing.

Have you ever used Zbrush? it's really good fun to use and mess around with...

What amazes me more though is that one day this WILL be rendered in realtime, at 60 FPS for our viewing/gaming/wanking pleasure.

Have you seen Appleseed? if not GO SEE IT AFTER Pan's :p it's a CGI anime, quite cool

yes seen it some time ago, however it peaked in the first few mins.
the rest of the movie was good, but they melted my brain the first few mins already :D

Pan DDL @ 20% !
